Butterfly Paperweight

This beautiful paperweight was created by artist Keri Lee Sereika.  It features floating butterflies, gemstones, a variety of decorative paper, and other embellishments.

Step One
 
Die cut and assortment of mini butterflies from the scraps of patterned paper you have chosen.  Cut a circle of Vanilla Cream cardstock and apply a vine like rub on.


Step Two
 
Cut a few small strips of scrap cardstock and fold them accordion style.


Step Three
 
Adhere the foded strips of paper to the underside of each butterfly.


Step Four
 
Adhere the end of the paper to the bottom circle of your project.  Repeat with remaining butterflies.


Step Five
 
Embellish as desired.  Here i have added gems, some glitter, and some stamped words.


Step Six
 
Adhere the entire circle to the self adhesive chipboard provided in the paperweight kit.


Step Seven
 
Adhere the chipboard to the center of the self adhesive velvet bottom provided in the paperweight kit.


Step Eight
 
Holding the entire project lightlyh, carefully place it over the bottom of the upgurned paperweight.  Press gntly around the edge to hold the bottom in place.


Step Nine
 
Press firmly to be sure the paperweight bottom has been really well burnished.
