Step One
Apply the decorative paper to your paperweight kit's mounting board and trim any overlapping material. (You'll want to use paper that doesn't have a coating that could be damaged by the hot wax or prevent the wax from adhering properly.)
Tip: If you'd like to place a wax seal on plastic or coated paper, stamp your wax seals onto aluminum foil. After they've completely cooled, pull the foil away. You're left with a seal that may be applied with glue... just don't use hot melt.

Step Two
The wax sticks have wicks, much like a candle. After the wick is lit, hold and rotate the wax stick over your background so the wax will drip in the location for your seal.
Always read and follow the wax manufacturer's instructions. |
Step Three
After the wax has hardened for about five seconds, slowly* and gently press the seal stamper onto the wax. (If you press the seal down too quickly, an air bubble can form in the wax.) Remove the seal stamper using a slight rocking motion. |
Step Four
Allow the seal to cool completely for a minute or two before proceeding. |
Step Five
Remove the protective film to expose the adhesive on the bottom pad. Center your finished design over the adhesive-side of the bottom pad and carefully lower into place. |
Step 6
Slowly lower the glass paperweight over the design and onto the adhesive bottom pad. As the paperweight is being lowered, make sure the design is centered properly. |
