Wild Saffron Butterfly Paperweight
I feel guilty when I post a design idea that's this simple. This project essentially involves using decorative paper as a background and applying a beautiful, dimensional embellishment that's already decorated and adorned with jewels. How easy is that?
These Wild Saffron Butterflies from K&Company immediately caught my eye in the store. They're perfect for a spring project.

Step One
Adhere a piece of decorative paper to the mounting board to act as the background for the design. Trim any overlapping material.
Decorative paper may be purchased by the sheet from your local craft store in a variety of colors, patterns, and textures. |

Step Two
Some embellishments are dimensional. Make sure you choose a paperweight kit that will accommodate the thickness of the embellishment you'd like to use.
Simply adhere the embellishments directly to the background paper and press to secure. For some extra sparkle, try adding some adhesive rhinestones or other jewels. |

Step Three
Place the decorative side of the mounting board into the recessed area on the bottom of the paperweight and apply the bottom pad to finish.

Your paperweight is ready to add a touch of spring to your desk, or give to a friend as a special gift.
