Fabric-covered Gift Bag (The Gift Wrap Company)

This project shows just how easy it is to turn an ordinary item into a boutique style paperweight.  This same technique may be used to display a variety of materials including paper, fabric, and plastic.

Look for beautiful designs in gift wrap, product packaging, greeting cards, and even plastic placemats.

Step One

Place your paperweight on top of the object (see top photo) and position it above the area you'd like it to display.  Place the adhesive mounting board from your paperweight's finishing kit on the reverse side of this area and trim any excess material overlapping the mounting board with scissors.

Step Two

Finish the paperweight as your normally would, placing the image-side of the mounting board onto the recessed bottom of the paperweight and applying the self-adhesive bottom pad.
