Manor House Daisy Paperweight

As jewelry crafting continues to become more and more popular, craft stores are expanding their selection of beads, pendants, and findings.  One of the pendant collections we love is Manor House by Blue Moon Beads.

Our Manor House pendant features a pressed daisy surrounded by 10 rhinestones.  The decorative paper we chose as the background is in weathered shades of teal and beige that don't upstage the vivid, yellow center of the daisy.  The result is an upscale, expensive look for less than $5.00 in decorating materials.

Step One

Adhere the adhesive side of the mounting board to the area of decorative paper you'd like to display in your paperweight.

A sheet of scrapbooking paper, like the one we used, can contain a variety of looks to choose from.  Glide your paperweight over the paper to see which area of the page you'd like to use.

Step Two

Using a pair of wire cutters, remove the bail from the pendant.  After the bail has been cut, smooth any rough edges with a metal file.

If you'd like to keep the pendant in tact, try camouflaging the bail with paint that matches your background.

Step Three

Apply hot melt glue to the center of your mounting board and press the pendant firmly into place.

Other adhesives may be used to bond the pendant to the background.  Just be certain they have dried completely prior to moving to the next step.

Step Four

Place the mounting board face-down onto the bottom of the paperweight.  Apply the velvet bottom pad to finish.

An Upscale, Expensive Look for Less

The supplies we purchased to decorate this paperweight cost less than $5.00.  They included a sheet of scrapbooking paper and the Manor House pendant.

Tip:  Create this look with broken pieces of costume jewelry from tag sales and flea markets.
