Established in 2001, PhotoWeights is committed to help revive the century-old art of decorating glass paperweights.  We offer a wonderful selection of heirloom quality paperweight kits that are easy to personalize with images, artwork, crafts, and mementos.

Since our humble beginnings more than eight years ago, PhotoWeights have flourished as favorites among artists, crafters, and photographers who transform our paperweights into beautiful, inspired giftware that may be found in specialty shops, museum stores, and boutiques throughout the country.

In addition to our paperweight kits, we also offer custom design and finishing services for customers who prefer to receive ready-made paperweights for corporate awards, fundraisers, family reunions, weddings, and other special events.

About the Owner, Susan Eastin

As a collector of early American souvenirs, Susan Eastin developed a fondness for glass paperweights that showcase early photographs of country churches, streets lined with horse-drawn carriages, and other scenes that offer a rare glimpse into a moment in time captured more than a century ago.  These paperweights of the past kindled Susan's interest in creating paperweights of her own that incorporated vintage and contemporary elements such as textiles, costume jewelry, ephemera, coins, scrapbooking embellishments, and other curiosities.

At a time when paperweight blanks were not easy to come by, Susan worked to develop a line of beautiful, heirloom quality paperweight kits she later named and Trademarked PhotoWeights.

Susan and her husband are Los Angeles natives who recently traded the sun and surf of Southern California to live in a small, prairie town in South Dakota.  When she's not in the shop or studio working, Susan enjoys antiquing and searching for vintage treasures at shops and tag sales throughout SE South Dakota.
